The power of perspectives
A small change in your perspective towards a situation can have a large impact on your life, positive or negative, depending on the change.
What is perspective
Perspectives are usually how we perceive things, situations, or life in general. Our perspective defines our boundaries, & anything outside this boundary seems irrelevant to us.
Why is it important
We can reframe a situation to change our perspective, and it is more than just essential for us, in the modern age, given so many distractions, technologies, pressure, etc.
Perspective defines our feelings, thoughts, etc., and we can steer our world in the direction we want if we can take control of our perspectives.
How to leverage the power of perspective
It is pretty easy to ask someone to change their perspective, but the actual process of changing one's perspective is super tough.
So, let me make it simpler for you.
Follow the three-step process below, and you shall become great at leveraging the power of perspectives:
Start by writing down briefly about how you are feeling in the present moment. Ex: I applied for a job at my favorite organization, but I got rejected.
Next, list down your perspectives of the situation that you have currently Ex:
I am not worth it
I am not sure as to what I will do in my future
Finally, write down the perspectives thinking from a third-person point of view. Essentially, list down the perspectives an unbiased friend might show you about the same situation. Ex:
You have learned something
Everything happens for a reason. There is something good about this that you will realize in the future.
There are so many more opportunities for talented people like you.
Once you are aware of other perspectives, it is imperative to question which perspective is the actual truth and aligns with reality.
And, you will realize that none of them do. It is all about how you wish to perceive the situation. You can choose the positive perspective and keep progressing forward in life or stick with the opposing perspective, and be sad.
