We all deal with insecurities in our life, big or small. However, instead of getting scared of it, we should focus on taking relevant action in the positive direction of our life. This way, we can convert our insecurities into our strengths.
What are Insecurities?
Insecurity, in simple words, is a state of mind wherein you are not confident with yourself.
Insecurities have the power to destroy you from within. Therefore, you must ensure that you do not give it that leverage.
How does it affect us?
Insecurities make you doubt your capabilities, feel inadequate & worthless too, sometimes.
It limits your ability to interact positively with the world and develop a sense of feeling judged every now & then by other people.
This puts you in a place where people might not enjoy your vibe, & that is dangerous. You do not want to enter that zone.
How to get rid of insecurities?
The only way to get rid of insecurities is to accept yourself the way you are. I'm sure you would have heard this on numerous occasions. Hence, I will focus on "HOW" you can accept yourself.
I am going to divide the process into three simple steps:
List down all of your insecurities, big or small.
Against each insecurity, write down how the insecurity is affecting you.
Next, ask yourself whether you can engage yourself in specific actions that can help you get rid of this insecurity or not do anything about the insecurity?
If you feel that you can get rid of the insecurity through specific actions, take those actions. Simple.
If you feel that you cannot do anything about the insecurity, ask yourself this last question: "Why am I feeling insecure when I know that I cannot do anything to change it?" This is probably the most challenging question you will ask yourself, but it will change your life if you do ask. Note: If you feel insecure because you fear what other people think, trust me, no one cares.
I had severe balding in my teenage years. I felt insecure. However, a few years later, I asked myself the same question. It was tough asking that question. But, it made me introspect, along with accepting balding.
I am sure you can do it too.
